Ten years ago, I founded GIRL+HAIR with a clear belief: caring for textured hair begins with caring for the scalp. 

 

At the forefront of the scalp care movement, that belief has guided every formula, every routine, and every conversation since. As we celebrate a decade of GIRL+HAIR, we’re honoring not just how far the brand has come, but our community and care that made the journey possible.

This milestone is about our intention —being thoughtful and focused from the very beginning—and growth, both as a brand and alongside the women who trust us with their hair care.


Created With Intention From the Start

GIRL+HAIR was created at a pivotal moment when more women were embracing their natural texture and choosing protective styles as an expression of care, confidence, and culture. From the beginning, the brand set out to support those choices with products designed specifically for textured hair and the routines that come with it.

Rather than following trends, GIRL+HAIR focused on building thoughtful solutions that worked with protective styles, not against them. The emphasis on scalp-first care came from listening to how women actually cared for their hair—prioritizing comfort, balance, and consistency. That intentional foundation shaped the brand and continues to guide it today.
